This is an exquisite pair of matching "Barbotine" porcelain plaques with a nautical theme. Completely hand painted with inviting seacapes in a soft marine palette, each one is surrounded with raised paste flowers and realistically modeled and molded swallows framing the borders. The birds are totally three-dimensional and ready to fly away. The borders of pierced flowers are ready to be picked! A uniquely wonderful and dramatic pair of wall decorations. Ca 1880-1910 24 1/2" in diameter and 3" tall.
