Steuben "Oriental Poppy" Set of 6 Opalescent Wine Glasses

Inspired by the opal gemstone, the Steuben opalescent colors usually imitated the cloudy phosphoresence of the fire opal. By adding metallic oxides to the batch, in this case gold for pink, Steuben made four basic opalescent colors: pink, green, yellow and blue. This set of 6 glasses in the "Oriental Poppy" variation of pink are elegant and bright, and add a lovely touch of color to any table. 8" ca. 1910
