This set of 11 Royal Doulton dessert plates, hand painted by one of Doulton's renown artists, E. Wood,  features a central hand painted scene with a strong Impressionistic feel. Each one is uniquely decorated showcasing a botanical "canvas", using a vibrant violet and rose palette contrasted on a saffron yellow ground. Paired with the dinner plates, item # 2914, these would make a phenomenal table setting or they stand alone as works of art in any decorative setting. The ivory shaped rims are also embellished with a decorative gold overlay creating an Arts and Crafts-style frame for each plate. Ca 1920's
